Clown fish and Goniopora

OK, I am at the end of my patience with my clowns... The female has decided she is in love with my green Goniopora and I don't know how to stop her from ROLLING AROUND in the lovely mound. What are the chances of a Goniopora "hosting" the clown? HELP !:sad2:

I let my clowns host whatever they want to host. The corals would close up for awhile. But they get over it eventually.

My red Goniopora always hated it when my clowns tried to host it. It would look bad for days. I would move it and the clowns would leave it alone for awhile before they started again.

Goniopora and Clowns

Thanks so much for the answers. I guess I'll just wait and see if the poor coral can put up with a fish wallowing around on the top of it, because every time this female clown starts dancing in the Goniopora it closes up entirely.

One more thing...... why does the female's mate "hover" over the torch coral, at the other end of the tank, while she flitters back and forth from one end of the tank to the other. I thought maaaaaaaaybe... HE is in love with the torch coral but SHE prefers the Goniopora.. Lovers' quarrel... LOL

im sorry, but in my experience, they will kill it. Goniopora are hard to keep anyways and teh clown will irritate it and it will die.

sorry to be blunt.

My tomato clown tried to host my plate coral and goniopora and the coral both died, but I cannot say for certain that it was the clown's fault. I was early in the hobby. My clowns have since hosted nearly everything in the tank without any apparent issues.

I'd be glad to gift you a rock covered in HA - my clowns host in mine... might work for you too. :D

Just kidding of course. LOL
