Today I noticed one of my clowns mouths did not look right - it's lower jaw was kind of white, swiming with it open. Any ideas?

sorry best I could he didn't want to pose for a pic

Could you post more about your system,, is it a reef, FOWLR. Tank mates, is it one part of a pair,, is it hosting ,, water parameters

This is a mixed reef tank
Yes it is one part of a pair
No nems - just host my frogspawn
No aggressive tank mates
Tank mates:
1 - Hippo Tang
2 - Yellow watchmen gobies (pair)
1 - spotted mandarin
2 - clowns (pair)
2 - tiger pistol shrimp (pair)
1 - peppermint shrimp
1 - cleaner shrimp
emerald crabs
blue legged hermit crabs
various species of snails
mix of corals
All parameters are normal all the rest of the fish look good

At this time I am going to assume that the fish recieved some type of injury and may now have either a bacterial or fungal infection. (I just don't see many other explanation but would love to hear one.)

Looks like he could have injured it on a rock and it is developing an infection. If you can take him out and treat in a QT that would work. Unless of course he is eating, then I would wait and see.

I have a hospital tank set up and waiting and I have kanamycin if needed I'm just all ways hesitant to go pulling fish from my system especially since this one if part of a pair.
