Hi guys i hope someone can please help
i have a 120 gal mixed reef, mainly softies, star polyps, zoos lotsa inverts, clams oysters hermit crabs etc, 3/4 tangs, chromis, pair BC triggs, cleaner wrasse ( for a year and a half now, very fat and healthy) i also HAD 1 pair orange white percs, 1 pair blk white percs and one pair maroon gold clowns, they have all lived together Very happily for the last 2 years its a big enough tank they had anenomes at different ends of the tank ( the percs all lived together happily as a 4 unit family)
then just before xmas the small b/w perc male dissapeared over night , he wasnt sick at all as i watch my fish everyday. So dutifully i went to the LFS and bought another, it got a bit bullied for a few hours then it seemed to settle down, the next day i came home home he was down in a corner panting heavily, thinking he had been bullied badly i caught him and put him in a small floating tank i have, within 3 hours he was dead, since christmas i have watched all my clowns go this way, they stop eating become listless, then start panting terribly and are dead within 23/36 hours. I did some research thought that it must be "clownfish disease "(Brooklynella?) i rang the LFS who recomended a course of octozin for 3 days ( octozin because of the inverts) i did have a small quarentine tank which after 2 years i have never used as i have had no probs ( it now contains sea apples the lfs gave me ) i carried out all the instructions to the letter, but to no avail, i am watching my last male maroon clown pant his last breaths, my Q's are this, i take it that it was CF disease , will it affect any other fish ( they all look very healthy eating etc) and does that mean even if i left the tank for several months and treated again with octozin this week i would have the same probs if i put clowns in again. Any help greatly appreciated
