How many times a day do most of you feed your clowns? I just got a med sized maroon yellow stripe clown he seems hungry quite often, I was told to only feed him 1 time a day.

Hello!
I have a small true perc clown and I feed him/her (:)) about once per day..sometimes a little more..but not a lot each time. Just make sure you dont put a lot of food in at once otherwise ammonias will boost. Usually, if my clown doesnt eat all the food I put in, my hermits eat the rest and have a feast! Have any pics of your tank? I would love to see them..clowns are my favorite fish.

Hi:

I feed my pair of percs once a day, sometimes every other day if things get real busy. My clowns are like dogs - they "beg" at the glass whenever I walk by. If I fed them on thier schedule, the tank would be a swamp.

I think you would want to consider what else is going on in the tank before you feed much more than once a day. If it's a reef and you are trying to control nutrients, that's a consideration. If it's fish only, you may have more room to experiment.

Haha, I've also often thought of percs as little aquatic puppies...just something about the way they swim reminds me of a puppy, and then there's the fact that they seem to actually respond to the presence of their keepers.

My maroon clown gets fed every other day. But when I pass by my tank, no matter when, she comes up to the surface looking for food!

i dont got maroons but i feed my clowns everyother day

lol i still remember when i would feed them up to 3 times a day cuz they looked hungery lol

i always feed the tank after i see my clowns beg so now when i walk by the tank my potters angel comes up to the glass and blocks my view or them until i feed them

I have never seen a clownfish that didn't act starved to death. I think it's in their genes.

Good thing there's no clown police. We'd all be in the pokey for starven them lil critters.
