Hi guys, I have 2 clowns in a tank, one of my dogs found one of the clown fish on the floor so not sure how long he'd been out of the tank (thought the clown was dead due to it not moving) so i pick the him up as i did he some what moved. so i placed him back in the tank, he has been swimming around but now he's in the bottom corner of the tank lying on the sand(gills are moving really fast) and not sure if i can help in any way....

Thanks, webster5

As i was about to post this he's back swimming around the tank now....

should i turn down the speed of the water flow?

Fish can handle quite some drying. I had fish in the past go carpet surfing and the ones I found in time usually recovered. If he is acting normal now, chances are good that he makes a full recovery.
I would just watch for bacterial infections. If you have something like a slime coat restorer, you should add that to the tank.

i had an ocellaris clown once that jumped out of the tank. i caught him on the ground almost completely dried out and somehow miraculously still alive. i threw him back in the tank and he recovered but had some after affects. from that day on he was the meanest fish i have ever owned. before the jump it was as peaceful as they get but after the jump he killed every fish i owned except for a maroon clown who i ended up saving and returning to the fish store

Thanks for the reply guys, he seem to be swimming fine, I'll keep a close eye on him. Iv added some alone coat restorer.
