Clown fish not eating?

So i just got two clown fish about 3 days ago. i have two different types of food for them that the lfs said i should give them. He said it was what they give to them. One of them is sinking pellets calle spectrum Thera, and the other is a flake food made by ocean nutrition that has brine shrimp in it and veggies. My problem is that they don't appear to eat either of the two. Is it normal for them not to eat in the first few days? They seem interested in the food though. They swim up to it bite it, and spit it out. Is there something wrong?

Try giving them some brine or mysis shrimp to help the eating process.

Or try chicken nuggets... That always works for my kids when they wont eat!

I am leaning towards the chicken nuggets but i guess i could try the others. Do you think it could just be because they are in a new tank and will start eating again? They won't starve to death will they? They eventually will eat when they have to right?

Generally speaking 3 days is not a long time that you need to be worried. Does the fish have white stringy poop?

On a side note my clowns refuse to touch flakes or sinking pellets. Any pellet that touches the ground is not food. Period. Its only floating pellets that they go for.

Ya i was surprised that the fish store recommended them. What do you feed them? I haven't seen them poop yet but maybe i can see it on the tank floor. What would that mean if they did have stringy poop? That they haven't been eating?

The first clown I added to my tank didn't eat for more than a week. I was really worried and tried all kinds of different foods. All the guy did while the lights were on was do laps back and forth along the glass. Don't ask me where he got the energy to do this for over a week without taking nourishment. Then, just like night/day he started chowing down. So don't worry too much at this point, 3 days is nothing, if it persists after a week or more, go back to the LFS and confirm that they were eating while in their tank and what they were feeding them.
