Clown fish pairing question

I bought a tank setup from someone that came with a handful of fish, including a naked female clown.
I'd like a pair, so I found a small misbarred male and added him to the display, hoping it would be a match made in heaven. Long story short, it wasn't. She showed aggression almost immediately. She hosts my Duncan and is quite protective of it.
I pulled him out and was going to give him to a friend when I thought about putting both together in a nano I have. Just them and nothhing else. I figured if it was neutral territory things may be better.
After adding both to the bare 8g nano, they are getting along great ! No arguments, no aggression, hanging out side by side.

I understand there are no guarantees that when I put them in the display together that she won't just revert back to her mean self, but I'm hoping she'll accept him and be ok.
So my question is, how long should I keep them together in the nano before attempting to add them back into the display ? Is it a thing of once they get along, its good ? Or should I keep them together like they are now for a few weeks ?

They've been in there for a few days now with no incidents.

Thanks in advance. :-)

I would just put them back in your display. I'm sure that she just didn't like (him) getting close to her duncan. Let nature take it course and good luck. It might take time to even pair up. I lost a clown about a year ago and the new replacement and my old clown are just starting to get buddy buddy now.(A year later)

Aggression is normal. She will assert her dominance until the male submits. He should lay on his side and "wiggle", letting her know that she's the boss. If it gets so bad that she is beating him near to death and he doesn't submit, then I would try something different.

I sorta figured that too, and decided to give it a shot just before I heard back from you guys. So far so good... :-)

Sorry for the crappy phone pic...
