My clown fish suddenly has a puffed belly almost looks pregnant is this possible? I have two in the tank. We bought them together as babies. I noticed awhile ago they were fighting for dominance.

Very possible but one of my clowns gets a swollen belly after heavy feedings.

a year is long enough for them to start breeding though, in a couple days she should start to lay them and the male will fertilize them and take care of them. get your salt situation under control though, i am actually surprised they are breeding with that high of sg.

then again hopefully it isn't something else that the high sg caused.

I sure hope not. I received advice on how to fix the high sg. And hopefully this solves the problem. Though the fish have been acting normal so I didn't realize there was an issue with our levels.

yeah, just take your time lowering the sg over a few days and you'll be fine. now if you wanna raise the babies thats a whole new level but very enjoyable to do

clownfish do not actually get pregnant.. I am still debating in my head wether or not they even have sex.. do they?

or is it just boring gravid and spawning..
