Can you put two different types of clown fish together in a 90 gallon reef?

you can have two types of clowns successfully in a 90g, i have a black occelarsis and a Wyoming white in my tank and they are nice to each other. as long as the clowns are close to the same size (within 1-1.5') when adult they should be fine. Just don't have a maroon clown and another clown, the maroon will kill any other species.

Different color patterns of occelaris and different colors of perculas can be kept together but they are the same species. Sometimes you can pair an occelaris with a percula, there are hybrids, but nothing is guaranteed. Females will be considerable larger than males when they mature. This is the case with all clown species. Get them together as juveniles. They will fight after a few months and one will submit. Whichever submits will be male. I have a male black ocellaris and a female Picasso percula that are paired.

The other species,( maroons, tomatoes, clarkii) cannot be mixed in a 90.

Both of those are color morphs of A. ocellaris.

People have success mixing occies & percs, but the others won't work. A 90 is still only big enough for a pair. Multiple pairs won't work.

i agree. 90G is not large enough for four clowns.

I have 6 Ocellaris clowns in my 90G and they get along well. I wouldn't add a different type like a Tomato Clown evil little guys. As long as you have them in pairs you should be fine.

It would only be for a short time that both pairs would be in the 90. One pair are black and white, the others are the ocar or how ever its spelled lol

I have 1 occelaris and 1 true percula in a 28 been together for 3 years.

I had a mated pair of Wyoming Whites and a pair of Gladiator clowns together in a 325g tank with a Ritteri Anemone. The Whites were in first and a little larger but never bothered with the Anemone. The Gladiators were in that Anemone within 30 min of being introduced to the tank. The 2 pairs fought right from the start and wouldn't let up and the Whites took over the Anemone. Still the fighting continued and I had to separate them but couldn't in time before one of the Gladiators took its last breath. The whites were clearly the attacker. I had no idea they were so aggressive. The Whites were in relentless pursuit until death. It was sad to watch.

Well I got them last night and decided to keep them separate, as the black and white clowns are smaller and already in the main tank.

The ones I got last night came with a bio-cube I bought and I just kept them in there with there anemones so they fell right at home.
