OK OK OK - I wish to also stop posting questions in this forum and b/c expert enough to offer answers to others... BUT for now another question...

My tank has died off after I introduced two new fish from LFS. I am not quite sure my diagnosis has been correct. FIRST I thought it was ich? Second I thought it was Velvet. Now I am wondering if all along it was Brook?

In QT I had 3 fish that I was treating w/ Hypo b/c I thought it was ick.
My goby did have a film over him and his skin was floating away? His skin was like cotton and under magnifying glass I could see legions going away from his mouth first and later down his entire back. Second my clown died.. his skin always looked fine, heavy breathing, and toward the end was swimming upside down. My female clown is in same Qt tank. I was raising salinity so that I could dose with Cupramine but now am wondering if it was brook? and if Brook would Cupramine help? I did a freshwater dip - she did not like it stayed on her side.. I pushed her right side up a few times. After 5 mins I put her back in tank no better kinda worse? her breathing was worse after freshwater dip.

On the Brook sticky it indicates that clowns can not tolerate copper? Can someone verify?

Brooklynosis: a parasitic infestation more seen in clowns than other species: if a pale body film, likely; other symptoms lethargy, spitting out food, difficulty breathing: formalin dip: Formalin added at a dosage of 1000 ppm for some 15 minutes. Revive brand med added to water: contains acriflavine---for 14 days. DO not treat in main tank.

Can you get pictures? It is hard to tell the difference between velvet and brook. Perhaps google images and compare. Formalin dips are the standard treatment for brook. I did 5 dips every other day on a flame angel and it worked. Some have used CP but I did not have luck with it.
