clown hostin question?

I have had a false percula for about 3 months now. It is doing really well but about a month ago it started hosting in my flowerpot. Since then the flowerpot doesnt open up as much. I almost seems irritated.

My question is will this eventually cause my flowerpot to die?

And that what I thought. I like the fish so I think Im goingo to try and trade the flower pot.
