Clown hosting Flowerpot

I moved my live rock around the other day to make room for my growing flowerpot. I have a clownfish in my tank amongst the many other fish, corals and anemones and it had never hosted anything before. Since i moved the liverock it is now hosting the flowerpot. Since flowerpots are so sensitive i'm afraid that the clownfish is gonna kill. Does anybody have experience with clowns hosting lps or have any suggestions

i had a flowerpot for about a year before two of my clownes started hosting in it then it always was closed up during the day and would only open up at night until it started rotting away from bottom to top then died hope this helps

Sometimes the 'rotting from the bottom' can come from substrate touching the base. They should be set up on a flat rock, or nestle the rock into the sand. Do not bump, scratch , or touch the flesh. It is believed that clowns can bother gonioporas to the point of their demise. Move the goniopora out of the clown's area, and see if that helps. I have moved corals that hosted my clowns just several inches and they stopped bothering them. Clowns generally don't stray too far from a certain area. Try giving the clowns some frilly green shrooms and see if they like them if you can. Mine love them, and can sometimes be a little rough with them, but they take the abuse.;) Welcome to RC m50177!:wavehand:

I moved the flowerpot to the otherside of the tank. The clown now only spends bout 10% of its time in it now so i hope it can still survive the short beatings :(

The clown will follow the pot anywhere you put it. I had been struggling to divert my clowns' attention away from my goni because they were slowly killing it. I did the same thing you did to no avail. I bought a BTA which got sucked in the powerhead even before the clowns noticed it. Out of desperation, Over a week ago, I bought a sebae anemone (nice blue tips) just for them but they ignored it and continued to harass the goni. I even had to chase them away from the goni with a stick to many times. Guess what, just now as I am typing this, the female had hosted the sebae  I am very happy. I just wish I witnessed the "landing." Anyway, I finally succeed.
