Clown hurting BTA?

Well, i have a bubble tip that i got directly after it split (prbly not too smart...) but anyways... it's about 6" across when fully opened, which isn't very often. I feed it every 2-3 days chunks of shrimp, silverside, or other fish. Since it's in a weird shaped rock, it only opens to 4-5" max. It often bubbles up, but my cinnamon clown bothers it alot. It always seems to smack it around, and deflate the bubbles. The cinnamon is almost as big as the BTA, but i really like my cinnamon. I have 2 false percs sharing a sebae, but i dun wanna get rid of my cinnamon. Will the cinnamon hurt the BTA in the long run? I took her out for a few days and dumped her in my fuge, but couldn't leave her down there, she wouldn't eat and it felt just too cruel. I have considered sending her to an LFS, but i would prefer to keep her, are there any good options?

It is possible that the clown will stress the anemone since the clown is so big. This stress could weaken the anemone and combined with other stresses could do a number on the anemone. I would separate them.

You could get a divider to seperate the cinnamon from the anemone.

The common advice is that the hosting anemone really needs to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 3x the size of the clown otherwise the 'gentle minstrations' of the clown can be too violent, and yes damaging, to the anemone. If you're set on keeping both, at the very least I'd QT the anemone in question until it's visibly healed from the split, either by removing it into another tank or covering it with a strawberry basket to prevent the clown from beating on it.

ok thx guys, i think i'm gonna give her back to the lfs, as much as i luv her, i can't give up the nem for her. If i let her stay, she'll prbly kill the bta, move on to the sebae, and then kill my ocellaris pair. *cries* well, i have a lfs who stocks smallish cinnamons for 30-40$ so ill see how much they'll give me for clownie here.

Why don't you get a tank divider and put the clown on one side and the anemone on the other side? Then you could let the anemone heal and grow while keeping your clown.

what if my BTA just splits again? will he stay at a large enough size to host the clown? if so, how would i divide my tank. I have LR everywhere, and moving it isn't an option. I can't destroy my whole tank atm
