i want to try to pair this fish up so i need to hed a good ID on it
i can try to get some better pic's if needed
and yes i have her in my 30gal sump untill my 125 has cycled(LFS wouldnt hold her for a few days)

thank you
Donald

she is pushing 4" and eats like a horse and didnt even stress too much during the whole bagging/transport part..

if it is a Clarkii and it is almost 4" how hard is it going to be to pair it up with a "mate"...and i am assuming that if it is that big it is female by now, or could it still be a male?? and if i want her to pair off what would be the best size to put in the tank with her?

you have a clarkii female.

if you find a small juvenile clarkii, say, under 2", then it wont be hard at all to pair them up. generally small clarkiis are easy to come across.

thanks dose anyone know how hard/long it is to get them to start spawning?

It was a long time ago when they started, but I want to say that it took my pair about 1.5 years to start spawning. 8+ years later they still spawn every 2-3 weeks. Heck they will even stop in the middle of a spawn to eat, and then back to laying eggs.

My ocellaris clowns took about 15 months to start spawning, but they were both juveniles when I got them.

my ocellaris took around the same just wanted to know if there was diff time frames to diff clowns

thank you for the info it has helped me alot

Some clowns are harder to get to spawn -- saddleback and pink skunks come to mind.

It took my pink skunk pair about 2.5 years to start.

ok i went out and got her a mate a 1" smaller maybe more..they went to fighting right off and the smaller of the two is giving in, but my question is should i let them keep fighting or should i turn out the lights and let them rest for the night??

i know they look the same size but its just a bad angle

this is the smaller one being submissive(or what it looks like)
