Clown ID

oh man. what a spectacle this all became.

yes. there are two. there were three actually. very difficult fish to photograph however. these guys bob up and down more than any of the other clowns ive had. adorbs.

the third was CB fish which the WC juvenile pair did not tolerate at all. i was warned, but i did not anticipate violence to this extreme in such a very short amount of time. like...i was gone for four hours short of time. in a darkened QT tank no less!

anyways, i will be posting more pictures as soon as i can. these are spectacular looking fish, and i simply cannot wait for them to develop their adult coloration.

Explain the warning.

i was thinking (down the road) of perhaps adding some CB juvi's to my pair. Although they have access to a mag, they prefer a field of large RBTA's, there would be room in the nems for sure, but at 80 gallons perhaps not enough room for more than the two?

Dave dont event try it my female has been clicking a storm when i had them next to a pair of clarkis she would just sit at the glass and pace.

She has killed 2 wrasses one tang and she fed a seahare to the malu she lives in.

i was told by Marina that she'd heard pairing was not smooth sailing. i could not have anticipated this level of aggression however.

of the two i have now, the dominant fish is tirelessly aggressive to the submissive fish. its obviously pair structuring, but she is relentless in demonstrating her sex.

Houser and i can attest to the crazy levels of aggression. Sometimes out of a whole cube of pe mysis my female lets the male eat maybe two small peices.

She is 3.5 inches amd the male is about 1.5

Every time the little guy was lined up to grab a bite she would take a run at him scaring him away. Was like that for 8 months. He was a persistent little bugger though and now they're inseparable. There is still a substantial size difference after a year, with female probably 6x mass of male. He is getting bigger very slowly. I believe him to be clean internally FWIW.
I was thinking once he gets some mass on him, and if in a tank like a 240 or bigger, that potentially a trio or quartet would be pretty cool. Put the juvi's in a little before adding the big ones in? Or you reckon the other way around? One thing I do know is I certainly wouldn't try it unless there was serious space in there. She still stands to grow a fair amount as she's only 4".
