clown jumped

Hey peoples,

I have a 20H gallon tank with a pair of true percs and a purple firefish. I just got home from staying at a friends home overnight and found one of the clowns on the floor. I love clowns and would like to replace him eventually. I was wondering if the remaining clown would tolerate a new partner? Would the new one have to be another true perc? What are the chances of them not accepting each other and fighting? Im not sure how old my current one is but I bought him when he was about 1 inch-ish, and have had him for about 6 months and he's now near 2 inch's. Should the new one be similar size? Any advice is appreciated.

You can always try to find another 1" true perc.. I belive now that your 2" is well on the way to becomming female. So now you need to find a juvinile. They should bond after juvie submits, and evetuallys turns male.

You should find a replacement clown that is smaller than the one you have to try and minimize any quarreling.

Thanks for the info guys! I just got home and found the other one on the floor. Any ideas whats causing them too jump? I had the tank set up for about 5 months at my old house then I moved to where I am now. The move was only 30 minutes and seemed to go good. Everything survived. In the evening after re-setup I had 2 jumpers, fortunately I was right there both times and put them back in the tank right away. Since then they seemed to settle in. I haven't changed anything about the tank except the rock-scape when I did the re-setup. Any ideas on whats causing them to jump all of a sudden is appreciated.
