clown on clown aggression?

I have two true percs. We picked them out together at LHS because they were hanging close to each other just doing this like wiggling in unison. They have been in tank for about 5 weeks. Today one of the clowns is chasing the other around like mad and is nipping at him. I have noticed this sort of behavior before but thought maybe it was a courtship thing. Today it seems to be more aggressive and like the fish being chased is really getting worn done. I dont see any bite marks, but at one point the fish being chased was in the corner at the surface like it was low on oxygen. Is this aggression or could this be mating behavior?

anyone? I could use some input....is this normal behavior? do I let the fish work it out? Or do I need to try and separate some way?

Oddly enough, normal behaviour once they pair up. As long as the make (The smaller one) doesn't jump, they will eventually become inseperable, with the aggression toning down after about a year, maybe less. Least, that has been my experience.

GL!

its normal, but if you feel like the male (agressive is the female) is being hounded rentless, then you could put him in a one of those fish seperator things for a few days. this was she wont pick on him but she stil can see him and hang out.

Seems normal, make sure you have a net up, those girls will chase them out of the tank, i had one jump through a 1/4 inch gap in my net from a pushy female!
