Clown or Tang?

chrisstie - i think the discrepancy is pretty easy to explain.

liveaquaria are a business that needs to sell products (including tangs) but also need to keep their customers happy and if they had on their site min tank size for yellows as 30g lots of experianced hobbiests would think of them as sending fish to their doom and stop purchasing from the company. if they put dont keep under 90g then all the people with 40s, 55s, 75s, may think twice meaning they sell less product.

they need to have a figure on there that is a compromise, 50g would be that figure.

it is best to get your info on the needs of specific fish from places that have nothing to sell you. e.g RC.

even if 50 Gallons is "right on" as the Minimum then that would mean you should probably not have anything else in the tank with that fish... and why would you want to do that...

ok so where are we at on this? did we talk you out of the tang ? if so any thing else ya need?

and please dont pull that " im going to upgrade" thing that so many people say but never do

ya sort of, I get both answers so just stuck, more saying no I guess but some having success with them. Just curious, anyone have a butterfly fish? (threadfin butterfly)? this is also one of my favorite fish I would like to have and I know it would have to be FOWLR. Can you keep one of these + a maroon clown?

I kept a sohal in my 75 when I got him he was 1 1/2" when I sold him he was 8"-9"he was allways happy and recomended tank size is min.180g (good thing fish cant read) but I dont think I would keep a tang in a 46g that was over 2" they need some room to roam

I love my little false clowns. I had a full grown one for awhile. Then I added a little guy. They bonded shortly after a minute of my larger one nipping at my smaller one. Now they are always together and are hosting a GSP. They are so cute, and cheap too.
