Clown Pairing Problems

I have a Black and White Ocellaris Clown that came from a tank that used to have another with him (both about 9 months old). Unfortunately they had to be split up and I kept the female. 2 months down the road I purchased another BW Ocellaris to make a new pair. The new clown is a little smaller (4 months old (and not completely black yet).

I added the new addition to the tank last night and they found each other and did pretty well. However when I came home from work today the new addition looked a little beaten up. They are now on separate sides of the tank. I'm not sure on what to do next. Any suggestions?

Thanks fig, I will. They seem to be together again tonight. Two of his fins got "split" last night and it worried me a bit. I know it takes time for them to do their thing, but I hope they work it out lol. I also hope he heals as he grows.

I'm picky when it comes to my fish, I just want them to be happy and healthy. Never had a stressed (or dead) fish in the years I've been in the hobby. Clowns are new to me though. I don't know how they react to certain things.

Minor fin/scale damage can be normal - even in a mature established pair. I agree with Fig that you should ride it out for a bit while keeping an eye on the smaller one.

Let them go at it a little longer until one submits, and don't worry about the torn fins they should heal %100 back to normal, my onyx got shredded fins from a beat down from the female and healed nice and quick. Good luck!:)
