Clown purchases?

I purchased a tank raised Ocelaris about one week ago. I want to purchase another in hopes that they will host one day, but I dont know if its too late. Can I make an addition now or will they just battle it out? Any tips?

How big is the one you have now? Was it alone when you bought it, or with others? Id try to find one that is smaller than the one you have, and was kept with others that were bigger than it in the store (ie not adding another female)

The clown I have now is small. It was in a tank with 2 other clowns the same size. Will there be problems if I introduce a larger clown to the tank?

its probably a juvenile so adding a mature female or simply a larger male may work in this case, adding a smaller one just takes out the risk.
what ever you decide do it sooner rather than later, what about quarentine?

Reading some threads and talking to other reefers, many didnt do this with the tank bred clowns. Would you recommend I do this with them too? Additionally, the clown seems to enjoy staying near the top of the tank at night. Have you experienced this at all?

yes i have two clowns that sleep in the top corner of the tank every night.......they even have a couple of flowerpots to sleep in but they choose the corner...........as far as pairing the fish, if it is 1.5 inches or less it is prolly a juvenile and you can either put a significantly larger clown in with it or one about the same size...........if it is larger than let's say 2 inches put a smaller one with it

Ok, thanks. I thought maybe something was wrong with it. He hangs out by the waterflow. I dont know if its trying to host it or what...he is a funny little guy though. And this clown is def less than 1.5''. I will look at introducing another into the tank very soon.
