Clown QT

I posted a similar thread in the clown and anemone section but I didn't get much answers so I will try here. I've had my first clown fish in QT over 5 weeks. I plan on keeping him in there at least one more week. Now I know that they are easy to come down with ick so my question is do I have to treat the little guy with something just in case or just leave him be. It shows no signs of weird behavior or spots or anything like that. Overall it's one happy fish so far.
All advise and suggestions are welcome!

Prophylactic treatment is more of an opinion thing.

Personally I'd treat it with copper, as I would every other fish. but again, that's opinion. If you know what to watch for, and the fish looks parasite and infection free it very well could be, and the treatment would mean unneeded stress on the fish, and extra money.

For some people though it's worth it to make sure.

I agree with Tin, the protocol in QT varies with opinion. I treat all incoming fish to a ph and temperature adjusted freshwater bath with methylene blue before they go into QT, with 2 treatments of Prazipro in the QT tank. Observation for 6 weeks. Treat as needed. I am considering adding Copper to the protocol if I purchase any livestock from my local LFS.

Prazipro and copper appears to be an effective combo for the common stuff.

I've found the FW dip w/ methylene blue effective for a number of parasites, however again due to its lack of effectiveness against Ich, some do not advocate the dip/bath. Copper is ineffective against a number of parasites, including flukes, which can be a slow killer.

What's your current livestock in the DT?

All I have in the DT is some beginner coral, a royal gramma and YWG/Pistol shrimp combo. I've had the fish in QT for almost a month do you think I can still do the freshwater dip and prazi treatment? What is the steps in the freshwater dip with the meth. blue treatment?
