Clown Trigger colour

Is it normal after a large meal (I placed an opened Mozambique clam - about 2" long - in the tank) for the clown trigger to turn a paler colour and inflate the bottom part of its body? This is the first time I see this happening.

It is normal uncooked Mozambique clams - the first time I fed this to him.

In case the clam had a high bacteria count or was spoiled in any way by chance. I could be off, but will still share the story of feeding an oyster to my big blue line trigger and regal angel. It killed then in 2 days. I didn't freeze it first, and didn't think too much about the idea that they don't really eat oysters in the wild I don't think, but figured shellfish was shellfish. I know this is a clam you've got, but, I just don't trust the shellfish anymore unless I freeze them first for a day as T-T-Trigger suggested way back when when I first reported the deaths.

I know though that my clown will stuff itself, and then go find a place to wedge itself in for a while and its colors usually turn off for a while while it rests.

The clams I purchased was already frozen! It was not fresh like in room temperature. Could this still have been a factor? Colours seem back to normal - but still bloated.

I really don't know. Keep us posted though and hopefully it is just full.

I think its' normal. Mine will do the same thing. It will eat till it can't move and then go to a corner and rest. Then its' colors fade. Mine does it all the time.

um, freezing won't do much to kill bacteria, it just stops them multiplying. If it was spoiled when it went in then it's spoiled when it comes out.

That or the fish has a seafood allergy
