Clown with ich, need help, advice!

Hi!

As of yesterday I noticed that my clown had a weird behavior. Today I noticed he has white spots near his head.
I am assuming this is marine ich.

I read that the best treatment is to keep the salinity very low, about 1.002.
But I have a few questions.

1) The tank has only some zoas, 2 trochus snails, the clown and bristlestars.
If I keep the salinity low will it cure the ich? What will happen to the rest of the habitants? (zoas, snails, bristlestars?)

2) If I eventually lose the fish. I heard I have to wait at least 4 weeks before adding any fish. Do I need to medicate in the mean time? Or will it be sufficient if I leave the tank without fish?

A pic would help properly diagnose whatever your fish has. Ich has a couple of deadlier imitators. I'd read Snorvich's parasite sticky at the top of the disease forum. You will get far better info than what you've been hearing. ,Also, a quarantine tank is a must -have.

I wouldn't just assume that. Can you post a pic? Is this clownfish a new addition? Clowns are very susceptible to a disease called Brooklynella, and treatment for that differs from ich.

Assuming this does turn out to be ich, I would familiarize yourself with the info found in the stickies below. Hypo is not the best choice for eradicating ich (IMO), and it definitely cannot be done in the presence of corals/inverts.
