Clownfish advice

Hey everyone,

I was wondering, I have a 55 gal tank with a pair of big maroon clowns and 2 long tentacled anenomes. My buddy got a pair of Darwin clowns for his tank but they are being bullied by a sixline wrasse that has neen in the tank for years. I have 2 possible options. 1 Take them off his hands and set up a 29 gal nano for them plus whatever or put them in the tank with the Maroon clowns and a lawnmower blenny. I guess our third option is give them to someone else.

What do you think will the 2 pair get along? My maroons stay on one side of the tank with their anenome and don't roam too much I only got them 2 months ago so maybe they won't be to territorial. I was going to do soft corals only in this tank.

BTW what kind of anenome pairs with the Darwins will they be OK with a long tenticled.

Thanks for any help.

Clowns

Anything can happen, but Maroons are the meanest clownfish in IMO, and tomato a close second. I have never been able to get a maroon to accept another clownfish, regardless of sex, size and tank. Once paired they rarely accept another clownfish. Good luck and keep us posted, oh yea you have to be able to get the darwins out in a hurry should things get ugly. I would just set up the 29 gal.

I agree with what tahoe61 said. If you want to try to introduce them I would also have the 29gal setup just in case things don't work out. My experience with maroon clowns has been that they are very aggressive.

Personally, I wouldn't even bother trying to put the B&W O's in the 55, see it being a hassle to get them out. The odds are very great that the maroons would tear them apart.
