how are your powerheads and returns positioned? interested because I see your running a tunze wavebox, I also have one but I'm running it with no powerheads and I just get a rocking motion in my corals.

my returns, one vortech, and wavebox are on the overflow side, the other vortech is on the opposite end of the tank on the bottom pointing up

the wave motion suspends detrius, but the powerheads are used to move it to the overflow, otherwise it just sits there

on low the wavebox creates about 1/2 inch of movement, on high I get almost 1 inch of wave motion

very nice setup, I usually have mine on low with about 1/2" wave and can get up to 2" on high as I only have a 3ft tank. I've neglected to use powerheads, I find it disturbs the waves motion too much but always concerned about the debris sitting on the sandbed. So far I just added 2 extra snails to help clean the sandbed and worked overtime during water changes to get all that stuff out.
