I personally would keep them at natural levels -- 1.026/35 PPT. I have always kept my tanks there, and have had clowns spawning (( I don't do the breeding part )) for the last 10 years or so.
Mine are at 1.018. I'm cheap and don't want to buy the extra salt.
Seriously, there are some benefits to a lower salinity, greater disease resistance for example. Plus, many LFS keep their fish at a lower salinity as well, so your acclimation survival will be better.
Have to be at 1.009 or lower to have any real effect on diseases/parasites. Personally, I don't see any reason to keep them at anything lower then 1.026.

"An important side note is this is an active process and requires much energy which is why lowering salt levels (NOT other mineral ions) can be helpful in aiding a sick bony marine fish!"
All of our brood stock tanks are at 1.019 and 84.5 degrees Growout is same 1.019 and temp is 80
If the livestock is going to home where the people really know how to acclimate properly, its much easier and shorter time to raise the SG for a fish than to lower it. I know most LFS all try to run their tanks around 1.019-1.022 to save money on salt but they do run the coral and frag tanks at regular levels 1.024-1.026. Its just the way it goes. But also why people loose so many fish......they try to acclimate WAY TOO FAST and the livestock ends up shocked and dead. Just my .02
