Clownfish breeding question

I'm trying to con them into spawning. I am going to raise the temp and hope for the best. But my real question is: If I get one new clown and kick out the current littler one, will it increase my odds? The two that I have grew up together and are very possibly the same litter or batch. Would a new male help me out? I may be able to make a trade at a local LFS if this might help me. And if I were to do this, how long before he might mature?

Thank you in advance!

They aren't fighting, but I'm getting impatient lol

And increasing feeding is a no go. I am a stay at home Mom, and feed throughout the whole day. Since I have a Moorish Idol and a tiny foxface, I feed a lot so I don't think feeding more would do them any good. They already get food like 6 times a day. Very small quantities, but all day long.

Anyone else want to chime in?

I would let them be you will start to notice signs twitching, fighting, and shortly after they will pair up well thats what mine did. I just gave them time it will happen.

Getting a new clown may make it longer, or may never happen. Agree that if they aren't fighting then leave them be. Sometimes it takes a while for them to make a "love connection!"

Unfortunately time is the only thing that will change the situation. Or you could sell both and get an established breeding pair. There is quite a premium for those though.

The littler of the two used to do a lot of twicthing and she doesn't let him stray too far away, so it's probably a matter of time, but like I said, I've been waiting for two years now.

I will let them be and continue like they are.

2 years IS a long time! But i would hateto have you waste that by trying to push a new male on your female. Good luck, and we'd love to hear when they take that next step in their relationship!

How big is your tank and how many other fish are in there?
Sometimes if the clowns feel crowded it takes them a longer to start breeding.
Do the clowns have an anemone? Although it is not absolutely necessary, I have found that in a community tank situation it really helps if they have an anemone.
