Clownfish dilemma

I had 2 black onyx true perculas at one point. A few months ago, the female managed to jump out of the tank. So for the last few months the male has been inside the tank, still hosting an anemone, and even recently started hosting in a second periodically. (I have 3 anemones)

No I have finally got a hold of a replacement black onyx. But the fish store has a pair available..

Now I would love to get the pair and add them to my tank but will they start to attack my original one? Or could the 3 of them possibly co- habitat with the multiple anemones in the tank?

Another consideration with that I would buy the pair of onyx clowns, and then a 3rd ordinary true percula to hopefully pair with my original onyx.

Opinions are greatly appreciated. Sadly time is a factor as I need to pick them, or it (depending) up today.

Unless it's a very large aquarium more than 2 clownfish is highly advised against. Some do successfully have more than 2 but many many others that have tried were not so lucky and unfortunately for the fish, lives were lost learning this mistake. I would just buy one if I Were in your shoes

If the new pair of fish are juveniles (male) then it is possible.
I would remove the original fish to allow the youngsters to get used to the new tank.
And then introduce the older fish (will turn female, if it's not already)
It's risky but I've had success
The longer the you give the new fish to adjust the better

So I only bought one new one yesterday. Put it in the tank and the 2 clowns instantly got along. The original was trying to coax the new one into the anemone with no success.

Then suddenly, at on point the new clown would not leave the top of the tank. I guess the original clown was upset with this and charged it a couple of times. I had to run out for an hour, came home, and my original was dead on the floor.

:( guess I can go buy that second one now.....

Yeah i don't know the size of your tank but i finally decided to fashion a glass lid on mine because one of my clowns jumped too. heartbreaking

alot of people are turning away from glass lids as they inhibit gas exchange, prevent heat from escaping leading to higher temps, and blocking light. a much better option is to buy clear 1/4 inch square mesh from bulkreefsupply.com or fragtasticreef.com and make a screen top for your tank using the supplies they have there.
