Clownfish disease?

I bought a pair of black and white ocellaris clownfish a week ago. they're both juveniles and in my QT right now. on the bigger one I just noticed this white spot on one side of the body and a faint white streak on the other side.

is this brook? can someone confirm? how do i treat it?

So this showed up within one week of getting my fish. I called my local fish store and they said they were willing to take them back. Should I take them back?

I can't see the pics I am at work. You may try posting in the fish disease forum.

If it is brook then it moves pretty quick without treatment. If you returned them I would be suspect of any other fish from the LFS. The link is about brook from the fish disease forum. good luck

The lfs did order the for me and I think they were holding them in another tank. They are willing to take them back and exchange fish.

I'm so glad I QT'ed them...

Amen to the QT, it has saved my bacon a few times.

If You can return the fish but also be able to disinfect the QT, then that may be a good option for you.

I read that article twice now. I kind of still think it's Brook, but don't totally see a mucus on the fish.

How would you recommend I disinfect the tank if I return the fish?

I think I would empty it out give it rinse with with a mild bleach and water solution then rinse it really good, maybe with the garden hose, and wipe it dry. Ideally I like to let them sit dry for at least 24 hours but I don't think that would be an option for you.

This is assuming the fish has brook and the tank is infected.

I just did battle with brook and lost all 22 fish in my tank, they all dies within 72 hours of diagnosis of one fish. Be very glad you have a QT tank, it just saved your bacon. To disinfect, like everyone else, I suggest bleaching everything, and if you can let it sit in the sun for a day to dry.

Sorry to hear about all your fish! That's a tragic lost!

Thanks guys for the input. I just decided to return the fish. They gave me a credit for fish in the future. The guy wouldn't confirm it was brook but did say they looked real bad.

At this point I'm prepping the tank and cleaning it up before I try to quarantine the next fish. I will try again on Thursday to get more fish.

I did think about it again and unfortunately I did share a bucket for changing water between tanks. I did wipe the bucket before using it to change dirty water out of my display. I hope I didn't infect my display tank and will watch my Jawfish closely.

Hopefully the bucket will be a none issue. I sharpied a big QT on my buckets and keep my QT stuff in them. Anything else in the tank?

Thanks for looking at it again. After bagging the fish I noticed white stringy poo that wasn't coming off.

Yea I need to separate things better. The only other thing in my display tank are some zoas and snails. That's it.
