Clownfish dying?

Hi,

I have 36 fully cycled tank. Parameters are ph - 8, ammonia - 0, nitrite - 0, nitrate - 1. I have a clownfish, firefish, 2 snails, and three hermit crabs. Just now i noticed my clownfish swimming eratically (swimming against the glass and top to bottom). Now he is swimming at the very bottom of the tank almost sitting by the sand. Im really worry about him since i know this is not typical behavior. He has been eating fine (i feed my fish twice a day small portions of snl pellets). Yesterday, i started feeding him rods food that is the only thing i changed from my tank. Also, he has always had a SINGLE white spot by his gills. Ive showed people pictures and nobody seems to think it was anything serious. Please any help will be greatly appreciated. Pics of tge white spot can be seen in the pictures. You'll need a better image of the white bump to assist with ID. This almost sounds like typically odd clown fish behavior, they can be just weird.

Did you awaken the clown?

Clownfish still alive but lethargic. I want to give you a better pic, but as soon as i get close to the tank he starts to swim all over the place. This is so strange. At one point he's eating and swimming and then he's swimming eratically to lethargic. Should i do a 50% water change?

I would set up a QT.

Your water chemistry looks fine, a 50% change is too extreme imo.

Run some fresh carbon if you have some. You have enough o2 correct via powerheads, overflow and or skimmer?

Yes. I have a skimmer, two powerheads, and a filter that runs floss and carbon. This is strange, he seems fine now. He's eating and swimming fine like before. Ill keep an eye on him and update you later. Thanks for your help.

How is the firefish doing? Clown is new to tank so it might have not settled in. Keep an eye on the white spot. If you set up a qt tank that might stress him out even more transfering him over. If you treat with medication you need to know what you are treating him for.
What is the temp of tank? Maybe try to raise it a little more if low. Also I do not know if this would be a factor in it's behavior but is there any stray voltage in your tank? Was he acting like this when you first got him?

The firefish is doing perfect. Hes very active and swimming around. He eats plenty so im happy about that. My temp in my tank is 78 - 79. Do you think thats too low? What is stray voltage? When i got him i dripped acclimated him and he was fine. He was calm and was eating the following day. This behavior is definately new. Thanks for your help.

You could do a QT with the objective of hyposalinity. I have used this in the past with great success. While it may not directly cure every ailment it will provide the fish with a cushion assuming it is fighting something not readily identifiable. Do a search on hyposalinity for the how to and best of luck.

Stray voltage is a small amount of electrical current getting in your tank. This can happen if you have salt creep around your tank. Your temp seems fine.
