Clownfish Ex Pair

When I got my clownfish, it was from a sellers tank who has two pairs.

So my clownfish is a male (I assume coz it was smaller), it was paired with a larger clown. Initially I thought that i would only want one clown.

Now I've decided that i'd like another. Is it okay to go back to get his mate? Or will mine have already turned female? Its been around a week since I got him.

Also since its a new environment, will the ex pair remember each other?

Thanks

Perhaps, or perhaps not. If it is only a week, the odds are in your favor.

It should be fine chueu. Actually, I'm not sure how it wouldn't work out for you unless your clown is in fact female and you're introducing another female. Clownfish are protandrous hermaphrodites so they will all be born as males but dominant individuals will become female in a pair or small group. Just look for one that is noticeably smaller than the one you have now. If you in fact have a male, and thus end up with two males they will sort it out.

Ok... The seller alrdy sold the female. So ill just wait for a shipment and pick the smallest i can find
