clownfish have spawned!

i believe they are SA vivid fancy Occellaris that i have had from juveniles for about 2 1/2 years(two of my original fish)I think they may have spawned before but they were always hanging around in the back of my tank where I could not see the eggs. The other night I noticed that the pair were hanging out under my frag shelf located right in the middle of my tank. On closer examination I found the eggs which have been tended to by the mail ever since. I'm probably on day four or five but am leaving town and will not be able to catch this hatch. But I am preparing a 10 gallon tank with all of the necessities to grow out the next fry which should be in about two weeks.

I have been doing a lot of research on the forums and YouTube and have purchased the book by joyce wilkersonAnd have read it cover to cover. I'm looking forward to this next step in the hobby I'm sure it will be an adventure. I was wondering if anyone else in the club is raising clown fish so that I can have a mentor locally

I salute you for having the time to raise the young. My True Percs must have laid egg's 6 times. Once I would see the silver of the babies eyes they would disappear.

If you really want to try to raise them you need to start building up your stock of phyto. If Miguel? is still around he sells it cheap.
You need to get some rotifers too, but can start with phyto and build up your stock first. The rotis will eat thru it fast. So get them closer to hatch day.
I tried 3 times to raise the fry but never got to far, 10 days.
I did learn a few tricks that made it easier each time. First time I stayed up really late, checking on it with dim red light every so often, painful but exciting.
Once you figure out the schedule you won't have to sit waiting/staring all night. Sorry don't recall excite time from lights out to hatch.
After lights out I shut off all pumps, rigged a container to sit right above the clutch, partially submerged. The lip sat 1/2" below water with more depth into container. I shined a very dim single led dollar storelight into container. I even put masking tape over the led to make it dimmer. Fry would swim up and into the cup and not get eaten by the other fish. Then simply lifting container out of tank you have a bunch of them without having to chase them around with a cup or net, risking hurting them.
I gave up because my phyto crashed. It is so cheap to grow that I would recommend getting lots of containers going(if you have the space). More containers growing = less chance of loosing all of your phyto. Its cheap enough to start over, if you live close to Miguel. I didn't want to drive that far.
