My small ocellaris has developed white spots on its fin which I assume is ich. I want to treat him but do not have a QT. My display tank is a 12 gallon nano with 2 clowns (including the sick one) and corals.
Could I use a 5 gallon bucket as a makeshift QT tank and treat in there? If I put a powerhead in and used water from my display tank would that work? Would I need any filtration and would the tank need to cycle? Should I take a small piece of live rock from my display tank? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
