I got a pair of clowns that were labeled "allardi" about 6 months ago .. unforunately the big one died and the small one became the big one after that... i am looking for a matching male for the big one now..

I was looking for allardi but now that I've been looking at online pics, he doesnt seem to be allardi.. the coloration isn't strong black.. its some what brown coloration.. also the white bar in the middle isnt as thin as in other allardi pictures ive seen.. any one know what kind this is?

It does look most like an Allard's, but also looks a bit like a blue-stripe (A. chrysopterus) - I think I would still go with Allard's...

...nice fish no matter what though, and good luck finding it a mate. I am sure one of the other frequent posters here in the subforum will be along and give their opinion, helping to clear it up... :)

Oh, and nice 'nem too!

That's allardi most likely. Bluestripes have yellow noses, where as Allard's have grey or pale noses when adults.

Great!

Now anyone know where I can find a male or juv allardi? lol.. I saw one on NYAquatic a few weeks ago and I emailed them to ask its size.. I didnt get a response and noticed it was taken off the site the next day..

I guess they sold it and forgot to remove him.

Well I did a search for "allardi clown" on google and the first link that popped up had an order button.

(Sorry not trying to put site name up and get in trouble)

Wow, we can't point out where they may be for sale currently?

I think the only place currently having them available rhymes with "guy glue potter"...is that allowed... :lolspin:

Myself, personally, I dont like to push business toward one place or another. It is easier sometimes to just point in the direction to go.

I could always do it in Morse Code but I have not used it in many years when I was working on my ham license.
