Clownfish in a 12 gallon Nano?

I have a 12 gallon Nano that I started 2 weeks ago and would like to stock with clownfish and soft corals. Can I get away with adding two small fish? Are there any in particular which will stay smaller than the others? Would you recommend that I add them at the same time or can I add one at a time over the course of a few weeks in order to minimize any potential ammonia spikes? Thanks.

First make certain your tank is fully cycled. If the tank is completely empty except rocks and sand, add a couple of snails (and feed them) before you add any clowns and keep checking the water parameters. If they hold steady for a week or two then you should then be able to add two small clowns without a spike. If you are uncertain about the stability of the water, either wait or add some basic corals. In regards to size, the larger difference in size will appear as they mature (female will be larger - except some b/w oscellaris may stay close to the same size). Another option is to simply purchase in person and select the sizes. Also, do not attempt to add an anemone until the tank is completely established (at least six months).

I also have Ocellaris in a 12 gallon tank. Like others have said, be sure your tank is fully cycled first.

I also have 2 percs in my 12 gallon nano. Definitely monitor water parameters as suggested above. Do not overfeed and make sure you make the water changes routinely and you will be fine
