Clownfish losing color

Hey reef central,

So I noticed a few days ago that my osc. clownfish was beginning to discolor. It was healthy and full of orange prior. It began to lose orange all over his body and started to look like it was turning black. Now, it has completely lost its color in some parts and showing white parts. It was eating fine earlier today and has been eating mysis shrimp. If any one can help me out and let me know what disease or any treatment I can do to the fish, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

It is a sign of health problems.
Is all you feed is brine shrimp?
Whats used for water flow and size tank?

Yeah, I have only been feeding mysis shrimp and recently brine shrimp a few times.

I have a 34g solana with a mp10 as well as a koralia for flow in the bottom back. Also have my returns for my sump.

MP 10 whats the setting. Sounds high for a 34 gallon.
Also clowns are omnivores and need veggie and meat. Get some marine flakes. I feed flake in the morning and meat at night.

I keep it on reef crest at never more than 50%

He didn't make it.. must be brookylnosis since it killed him so fast. This is the second clown to die in my tank, any idea how or where they get that disease?

Anything I can do to prevent this from happening again and again?

Brooklynella can be on any fish that comes in your door. It is a common and deadly parasite. Its most common with wild-caught clowns, but any fish can carry it. Its a big reason why a QT is vital for all new fish. Unfortunately, your whole system has this parasite and all fish should be treated in a QT/HT with Formalin and your DT left fishless for at least 6 weeks. This stuff is capable f wiping out a tank of fish in a few days.

Thanks MrTuskfish, I am definitely going to set up a hospital tank tomorrow for all my new fish. I know there is a thread somewhere on the forums for setting one up, so I will search for that.
