Clownfish n Elegance coral ?

Two part question.
Will or can an elegance coral handle a pair of clownfish.
If I had 2 pairs on opposite sides of a 125g 72 inch tank will they be far enough away to behave?

Trying to avoid an anemone but I would really love one if I could only nail it into place.

Thanks
Ken

It all depends on what the clowns want for their host. Sometimes they will take a powerhead, corner of the tank, frogspawn, hammer... just about anything. The only pretty much guarantee you will get for a host is the natural wild host, which depends upon what clown you have.

Our current maroon clownfish used the heater. We just put him in a 125, lots of room. They all went to the same upper right hand corner but now Rome the tank. Hopefully host a cave instead. Would still like a pair of clownfish but don't want a feuld either.

I had a good sized elegance and a pair of clowns before. They rubbed it and would bite it like a anemone. After awhile the elegance barely came out. So after removing the clowns the coral recovered and healed. Lucky me I didn't wait to long.
Others may have different ideas.

Ken, a Maroon will dive into a BTA very quickly for a host. BTA's are the natural host of maroon clownfish.

Just make sure you get one large enough or your clown will luv it to death. Color of BTA shouldn't make any difference.
