I've had a mated (spawning) pair of false percs for about 5 years. A few months ago, I had to pull them both from the DT into HT for treatment. They did well, and even started to spawn in the PVC hiding places.
They were the only ones in there, and I noticed some fin nipping. Well, it was well past time, so I put them back into the DT. (I had toyed with the idea of keeping them in a smaller tank where I could perhaps breed them ... but just never seemed to find the time to get the endeavor going) They are the only fish in the DT (75g) right now with some RBTAs.
At this point, the smaller of the two (presumably that was the male) is aggressively keeping the larger one at bay. He's in the nem, keeping her in the corner of the tank.
When she snaps back, the days of the submissive wiggle appear to be over ...
