Yes! I will! So how can I maintain a permanent QT in a old 14g biocube. I've read to keep seeded filter pads in your main tank sump and transfer them to the qt. Obviously water changes. What else?
Yes, anything porous which can host nitrifying bacteria can be used for biological filtration. I personally "seed" the foam/sponge insert that comes with Aquaclear powerfilters for one month down in my sump.
Pickup one of these to monitor ammonia.
Whether you choose to prophylactically treat or just observe in QT is personal preference. But if you choose the latter, I would suggest QT'ing for at least 2 months to allow time for symptoms to appear. If you choose to prophylactically treat; I would at least use Prazipro - a minimally invasive dewormer. A lot of folks (myself included) will also treat for Ich. Cupramine is a popular choice.
THEY ATE JUST NOW! WOOO! One put down some mysis and the other some pellets and little piece of mysis. I was looking at the larger of the two... it looks like he/she (whichever one mostly dominates which i think is female) has some more aggressive teeth showing than it did a few days ago... maybe something to do with the white lip... but no white lip now.
Good deal! My big mama Maroon clown lives with a white lip, as she is always ramming me with her mouth.
