clownfish size affected while being paired?

I saw some nice big clownfish in a showtank at a store and was wondering if paired clowns will not grow as big as they would living unpaired?

Once any two clowns pair one becomes the dominant female and grows larger while the male stays the same size and becomes her little whipping boy. I gues what im clownfish are able to change sex from male to female based on dominance. If there isn't another fish in the tank one will likely grow larger, but if there are several in one anemone a pecking order is set up and they wait in line for their turn.
