Clownfish spawning question

After 1 1/2 years my occs finally spawned. I'm pretty happy about this, but I have a few questions. The eggs were laid a little under the lip of my gigantea. The eggs are smaller than I expected (but my occs are still pretty small), and the clutch is also fairly small. The eggs are a clear white, and I was expecting orangey. They don't look fungused, just clear. The eggs were also laid in the direct path of a powerhead, so I'm wondering if maybe they couldn't get fertilized?

I have no intention of raising any fry at this point, but maybe in the future and curious what people think of this. (sorry, tried a pick but the nem is blocking it)

This would probably be better off in the breeding forum. I've never seen clear eggs but i would guess they are unfertilized. Maybe move the powerhead and see what happens next time. Congrats on the spawn!

Can't see if the powerhead created the issue or not. I would wait for at least 3 more spawns before considering moving the powerhead. It isn't uncommon for the first couple of spawns to produce unfertilized eggs. The first time my pink skunks spawned, they ate the eggs after 2 days -- most likely they weren't fertilized.

Another reason to hold off moving the powerhead --- a change in flow can/will cause an anemone to move, and I am assuming that you wouldn't want that to happen.

Thanks guys. No, don't want the nem moving. Last time he decided he wanted to squeeze thru an overflow hole.

Sounds like they are unfertilized, but the powerhead was not the cause IMO/IME. My percs spawn in the path of a 2" surge pipe that would dump about 8 gallons in 5 seconds. I wouldnt change anything.. just chaulk it up to a young male that will get better as he matures.
