Clownfish splashing water

When I do my weekly maintenance I have a fire clown that will splash water out of the tank at my hand. When I put my hand in the tank it will nip once at my hand, and then go about business as usual. I figured that the fish is just trying to bite my hand (when I working above the tank) but tonight noticed that she comes to the surface of the water and is splashing water at me with her tail. Just thought that this is interesting, and am wondering if this is usual behavior for a fish.

I have a clarki that just did this. Made a complete mess before I figured out what was happening

I have seen puffers squirt water out of the tank when they are hungry.
