Clownfish tankmates?

I have two picasso clowns in a 22g Cadlight tank, they have been by themselves now for about a year. Am I going to have an issue with adding any more fish to the tank? Thanks in advance.

There is a chance that they have claimed the tank for themselves and would kill anything that comes in now. 22 gallons isn't a lot to begin with, so you might want to just stick to them.

Thanks, I was hoping to add a wheeler goby and pistol shrimp, but was afraid that they would kill them. They seem to be territorial at this point anyway, coming up and nipping at my hand in the tank.

I think a goby will be fine as it will not occupy the same space as the clowns. They might be a little ticked at first but I would expect them to forget it is even in the tank after a day or two.

I have kept clown gobies with my ocellaris. Though my clowns are timid and hand fed so they haven't ever bothered anyone except each other on occasion. Sand dwelling gobies are a great mix generally because they don't bother the clown's territory.

Dwarf angels can also make a good tank mate but 22g is a little small. You might have to rearrange your rock work if you want to give any new comer a chance if the clowns already claimed the whole tank as their territory.
