Clownfish twitching?

I have a pair of snowflake clowns that are twitching next each other and seem to be cleaning an area (in the back corner). Is this the beginning of courtship?:love1:

One of the keys of getting them laying egss is to raise temps, feed'em heavy and increase lighting,,,, I guess there was more than one,, good luck

my understanding is, they want stability. stabile water quality, lighting schedule, feeding schedule and no tankmates that are a threat to them.

Thanks for your help guys. My tank is very peaceful so they should feel pretty comfortable:beachbum: Now I wish I could find something they can lay eggs on, so I can move the eggs into their own tank when they r ready to hatch.

I am considering breeding and have been reading up on it, I just need a pair to start laying eggs. I have plans to make a platform out of PVC and a piece of acryclic. I will take a piece of about 2 inch PVC Y fitting and put a cap on the one end of the straight section and glue the piece of acrylic on the cap and just pop it into the sand. I am hoping that the open Y area will be the hiding spot and they can use the platform to lay the eggs. I will not glue the cap on as it will remain removable. I will do this soon and put it in the tank so it will become part of the surroundings they are used to. Just an idea

Robka, you could place a small piece of tile in the area that they hang out in. They like to lay their eggs on a smooth surface. I have a small flower pot in my tank that my clowns host. My old pair of clowns started laying their eggs in the pot, making it very easy to remove. I lost the female about 8 months ago. I got a new friend for the male that was lonely. He's now the female and the new one is the male. They LOVE their flower pot and use it for their home. They clean it and twitch in it but no new babies yet. My avatar shows the old pair and some of their eggs.

Hopefully, they'll start breeding soon. Best wishes to your pair!
