Clownfish?

Hi, does anybody know why my two clownfish are always swimming in the upper corners of my aquarium? the never swim at the bottom or in the middle.

I had 2 oc clowns that did that until they learned to carpet surf. My guess was that because they were captive bred, maybe the scape and other critters on the rocks intimidated them? who knows really. But a few days ago I got a maroon and he went straight to the bottom and a day later found his anemone. Both were from the same breeder.

I'll ask the famous question. What are all of your tank parameters? Are there any signs of heavy breathing, etc? Are they eating? What else is in the tank? How long have your clowns been in the tank?

So many things it could be or nothing at all. When I first got my clowns they hung out closer to the top till they got settled in. Once they had a anemone I can't get them to go a couple inches away from that.

^ literally have had that exact same thing happen to me in every single one of my reef tanks. In my non reef, they do the same thing but then take to this one shell I have. It's really wierd, all 4 clowns ive had in that tank (1 occelerus, 2 black and white percula, and 1 maroon) have all taken to this shell. It's a large nautilus shell I've had for at least 20 years and every single clownfish I have takes to it. I have no clue why it's a 75 gal tank with live rock and no more than 3-4 small, peaceful tankmates at all times. Sorry now I'm ranting about my own questions but if they are eating and all the water params are good then they should settle down within a week. Also it could be an overly agressive tankmate. Good luck with them!
