just got my 2 clowns :) they are ORA ocellaris clowns. got them saturday. they are doing great! they are always together. they are the only fish i have so far.

anyways i have some questions....

1- why r they always together?

2-at night they are like swimming weird, and you can even touch them and they dont mind it, like they are blind or something...

3-they eat very little..so far...

4-they dont get near my shrimps at all even though my cleaner keeps trying to touch one lol

Nothing unusual about your clowns hanging together.

New fish often take a while to start to feed normally - a bit of live brine shrimp may help.

Small fish will often stay away from cleaner shrimp .. suspect they view them as predators.

what about the night behavior? they are like touching and rubbing and they are like blind its weird. except last night they were on oposite sides of the tank but you get near them and touch them and they dont run and hide, like they are asleep or blind or idk :(

Perhaps they are used to people's hands in the tank, being in at the LFS? Mine rub together frequently, I think it's normal behavior for clowns. They're a different type of fish, aren't they? Fun to watch. Do you have anything for them to host in? Anemone? Toadstool leather? Mine LOVE the toadstool leathers. It's entertaining watching them love all over those leathers, rubbing on em, swimming backward into a fold.

so then they are asleep when they let themselves be touched? and nah not yet im getting an anenome this month :)

haha it was just funny cuz they look asleep but like swimming fast... and they bump into everything haha

Wait until you see them sleeping at night pointing up (or down) by the side of the overflow... scared the cr@$ out of us...

well it was weird cuz when theyd swim by the powerhead it would push them way out there and they were like just going with the flow. like they were swimming but being tossed around everywhere, i was scared theyd hit some LR...it was scarry at first i thought they were weak or dying, but they were just sleeping...must suck to be a sleeping clown in the ocean youd wake up in mexico or something.

I guess this is one of the main reason people often get them along with Anemones, it serves as a home.

yeah I freaked out when I saw mine laying on their sides in the tank the first night. I was checking on them every few hours and after the lights went out they started to act weird. I thought they were dead...:)

When I turned on the lights they acted like they were drunk or something just totally disoriented. Kinda funny but freaked me out the first time...

yea...they're pretty cool to watch...one time mine were fighting when i was feeding them and i saw the bigger one lock onto the little ones face...like they were making out or he was about to eat it...lol...crazy...or they wiggle at each other really fast when they're getting too close...

haha yeah they just wiggle around like they are dancing, and make random turns.... and stick together. haha ill get them an anemone poor dudes geting bashed around the LR at night lol. there like tumbleweeds
