Clowns didn't like that!

My clowns have been laying eggs about every 2 weeks. I finally got everything ready for raiseing some fry. They have been laying the eggs on a tile I put in. The tile fell off the rock today, so I tried to epoxy it back on the rock. Same exact spot.

As soon as I backed away they both came up to it and started to eat the eggs! Oops. I guess they think I messed with them and the are no longer worthy of hatching.

I'm not sure how the eggs will do, but I put the tile in a small "pregnant fish container" in the main tank. It has gentle flow that makes the eggs sway. I hope they make it. My rotifers are finally up to where I can feed them to some babies. We will see.

Interesting. I've placed false perc eggs in a clay pot in a larval tank, thinking they were ready to hatch. After a few hours, it was apparent they were not hatching that nite, and I returned them to the parent tank. They male immdiately proceeded to fan and work the eggs. They hatched the following night after moving them again into the larval tank.

That's what I would have expected, but they were mad! I felt so bad for those little eggs. They still look good today, but I have 5 days left until hatching.
