clowns in different btas

So I have a pair of gold strip maroon clowns. They where hosting together in a rose bubble tip for about 2 weeks. I added a rock with 7 bubble tips last night. I woke up this morning and 3 of them had moved off the rock. Not a big suprise as my flow is fairly different then the tank they came out of.

Anyways my clowns bounce around from various nems but rarly together. Im not sure if they will sleep together or not but seem to be spending most of their time apart.

My question, if they spend to much time apart will they start fighting or could the male turn female?

I don't have an answer to your question but I must ask if you have any pictures you could share? Also, how old were your GSMs when you got them. Are they tank raised or wild and how long did it take for them to accept an anemone as their host?

In the same tank like you describe, the male will not turn into a female, don't worry. Also, it's not that uncommon for them to be swimming apart. Think of your wife, are you always next to her side 24/7? It'd probably drive you nuts! (looked over my shoulder to make sure my wife isn't there :D) They don't even need to sleep together to still be a pair. (think of your grandparents in the 1950's-60's) I really like it when my clowns bounce around from one nem to the next, it makes the tank more interesting to watch!

No pictures right now...no camera.
I got the clowns at about 1" long aand one grew faster thus became the female. I have had them for abour 3 months. I had them in with an LTA and they never took to it. I put the bubble tip in and within 2 weeks they where inside the BTA. Now I have 8 BTAs both red and green and the clowns use all of them.
Its pretty interesting to see because every now and then the female will go over to the male and peck at him for a few seconds then go back to her nem.
