Clowns in Goni, ignoring BTA !

After letting my 300g tank mature for 10 months, I finally bought a pair of common clowns (established) at the weekend, along with a nice big healthy green BTA. I also bought a beautiful tennis-ball sized goniopora coral.

After aclimatising in the normal manner, I added them to the tank. The BTA was placed on the substrate at one end, and edged towards the rocks where it remains at the moment. The Goni I placed at the other end.

The clowns had been added an hour earlier and initially hung around my small hammer coral. Now, however, they have set up shop in the Goni :( .

Naturally, the Goni isn't too keen on this arrangement. It's quite small when not extended, and the Clowns are busy around and in it. I fear it will starve if they stay.

Is there any way of persuading them to 'move house' ?!

No there isnt a way of getting them to host in a particular nem! Many people add aneomones and their clowns never host in them, but theres some luck people like me who's clowns hosted in the anemone after a minute of the aneomone being added :)
I had a lovely Goni too, but my clowns became interested and battered it to pieces, it wouldnt come out of its skeleton again and died :s

I had the same issue for 4 months my mated true percs never even looked at the GBTA, kept annoying my green toadstool. I went on vacation for a week which usually spells some doom to come home & see the female all over the GBTA. It just happened give them time.

Place a strawberry basket or similar clear perforated container over the goni so it still gets light/flow but the clowns have to leave it alone.

Eventually they should wander off somewhere else...maybe.
