Clowns only eat pellet food

So, last week I got a mated pair and they look great in the QT. They eat well but only formula 2 pellets. Formula 1 frozen gets spat out. They were from someone who had them before me then they went to the lfs for trade. I had assumed frozen would be better for them to spawn (not considering raising any atm). Should I just keep feeding the pellets and not be concerned?

My maroon clown pair won't eat pellets, only veggie and protein flakes. You could try starving them for a day if its that much of a concern.

I've only feed formula one pellet for years and my clown pair spawns like clockwork.

Frozen One, NLS...etc As long as they are a high quality food they should be fine. You're more likely to be limited in spawning by their habitat being changed then you are their food to be honest.
